Queensland Health is pleased to announce the Queensland Health Healthcare Improvement Symposium on Tuesday May 11, 2010 at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The purpose of the Symposium is to:

The Symposium themes are:

  1. Skilling for the future: Innovative skills and system development
  2. Improvement through leadership development: Better culture, better care
  3. Consumer partnership: Improving healthcare together
  4. Improving Indigenous health outcomes: Closing the gap
  5. From learning to action: Practical patient safety improvement
  6. Research informing healthcare improvement: From benchtop to bedside
  7. Clinical Practice Improvement: Moving to better clinical practice  
  8. Acute & chronic disease prevention: Promoting better community health and wellbeing
  9. Corporate innovation: Supporting those who deliver care

The Symposium will provide Queensland Health an opportunity to hear from colleagues and teams that have implemented patient healthcare initiatives and improvements. Staff from Queensland Health or partnerships involving Queensland Health are invited to submit abstracts against the Symposium themes. Each submitted abstract will be considered for a Healthcare Improvement Award, in order to be considered for a award, each applicant needs to register for the symposium.

The closing date for receipt of abstracts is Monday 1st February 2010 at 5:00pm.
